Bagnaia Dominance Colors Day One of the 2026 MotoGP Pre-Season Test in Buriram
Francesco Bagnaia made a strong statement on the opening day of the 2026 MotoGP pre-season test at Buriram, showing impressive pace and consistency throughout the sessions. The Ducati rider immediately looked comfortable on his machine, setting benchmark lap times that underlined his readiness ahead of the new season.
Riding for the Ducati Lenovo Team, Bagnaia focused not only on outright speed but also on long-run performance and bike balance. His dominance during key phases of Day One suggested that Ducati’s 2026 package is already well-refined, giving rivals plenty to think about as testing continues.

The test took place at the Chang International Circuit, a track known for its demanding layout and hot conditions. Despite the challenging environment, Bagnaia remained calm and precise, maintaining strong rhythm across multiple runs while experimenting with different setups and tyre options.

Although pre-season test results do not directly translate to race outcomes, Bagnaia’s performance on Day One sends a clear message to the rest of the MotoGP grid. With more testing days still ahead, the Italian rider appears determined to start the 2026 campaign on the front foot and reinforce his status as one of the title favourites.
